APDP holds sit-in protest in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the members of Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) held a sit-in at Pratap Park in Srinagar, today, to demand the whereabouts of their relatives who have been subjected to custodial disappearance by the Indian troops during the past twenty-nine years. Scores of relatives of disappeared persons holding banners and photos of their disappeared loved ones assembled at Partap Park demanding whereabouts of their missing relatives.

Speaking on the occasion, the APDP leader, Parveena Ahangar, while welcoming the recent report of the United Nations on Kashmir said that the international community had also acknowledged the stand of Kashmiris that “Indian forces commit grave human rights violations in the Valley”. The protesters also raised the disappearance case of Manzoor Ahmed, a resident Devar area of Kupwara, who was picked up by the Indian Army on August 31, last year, and is still missing. They demanded the whereabouts of Manzoor and all other disappeared persons.
