APHC-AJK expresses concern over IOK situation

Islamabad, June 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed concern over the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir. The APHC-AJK in a statement issued in Islamabad strongly condemned the authorities for not allowing its chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, to visit Urdu Book Fair at the Kashmir University in Srinagar and keeping him under house detention from last several years.

It also denounced the illegal arrest of Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, information secretary of the APHC and said that the Indian forces were using all tactics to harass the Hurriyat leaders and innocent people of the territory.

The APHC-AJK said, on one side, the Kashmiri leaders are being arrested and, on the other, the Indian forces have accelerated the killing of Kashmiri youth during the cordon and search operations which are condemnable. The youth of Kashmir are being killed on daily basis, it added.

It urged the international community to take notice of the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and put pressure on India to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
