Islamabad, August 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter while expressing serious concern over the present grim situation in occupied Kashmir has strongly condemned the use of brute force by the Indian troops on the Kashmiris to stop them from holding protests against the Indian move of scrapping the territory’s special status.

The APHC-AJK in a statement issued in Islamabad, today, said that the representatives of the constituent parties in a meeting that has been going on for the last three days were closely reviewing the illegal and unconstitutional decision of BJP-led Indian government and turning the occupied territory into a military garrison. It said that a final plan of action in this regard would be presented soon.

The leaders also expressed serious concern over snapping of all communication lines and cutting off the territory from rest of the world, which has led to extreme scarcity of food and medicines there. This, they added, is going to create a dangerous humanitarian crisis in Kashmir. They also expressed grave concern over the reports coming out from the besieged territory about killings, mass arrests and injuries.

Meanwhile, a group of Kashmiri lobbyists, activists and lawyers during a briefing at National Press Club, Islamabad, today, said that India was facing the worst international isolation on Kashmir in seven decades as the international media had refused to accept its illegal decisions with regard to the territory, insisting on referring to the region as disputed territory. It said that the United States, China, the United Nations, and the OIC have put India in the spotlight.

During the briefing for Pakistani and international media organized by Youth Forum for Kashmir, a rights organization active in Islamabad and Geneva, the speakers warned India against creating Hindu settlements in Kashmir in order to change its demographic character, which could lead to frictions and violence.

They said that the Kashmiri people were sure that Pakistan, peace-loving nations of the world, international media and rights defenders would stand by them. They added India’s mishandling of Kashmir has ensured the internationalization of Kashmir conflict in a big way since the UN passed its resolutions.
