APHC-AJK holds roundtable conference on Accession Day

Islamabad, July 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter of Hurriyat leaders held a roundtable conference in Islamabad, today, in connection with Accession to Pakistan Day with Convener, Ghulam Mohammad Safi in chair. The speakers on the occasion said that the resolution passed in Srinagar on July 19, 1947, for accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan depicted the aspirations of the Kashmiris.

They said that it was high time to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute according to wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiris in the light of United Nations resolutions. The Hurriyet AJK leaders said that the Kashmiris were nourishing their ongoing freedom movement with their blood and Pakistan would continue its support to their just struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

They urged the world community to take cognizance of stepped up Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. They demanded of India to lift curbs on media, withdraw its troops from occupied Kashmir and punish the forces’ personnel involved in the grave human rights violations in the territory. The Hurriyat leaders reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue their struggle till the accomplishment of the mission of accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.

It was on this day in 1947 that the Kashmiris adopted a historic resolution from the platform of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar, demanding accession of the state of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan in accordance with the Partition Plan, two-nation theory and the aspirations of the people of the territory.

The speakers included Roshan Khurshid Bharucha, Tehmina Janjua, Shah Ghulam Qadir, Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, Abdul Basit, Senator Abdul Qayoom Khan, Abdur Rasheed Turabi, Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan, Raja Najabat Hussain, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Mohammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Abdul Hameed Lone, Daud Khan Yusufzai and Fida Hussain Kayani.
