APHC concerned about Indian colonialism in IIOJK

Srinagar, July 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed deep concern over the Indian policy of colonialism terming it brazen violations of the United Nations Security Council resolutions which clearly defines Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory.

The APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that the Kashmir dispute could only be resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He termed the issuance of the domicile certificates to the non-state subject spouses as a brazen conspiracy of implementation of the new set of laws to change the demography of the disputed territory.

He added that India as an aggressor has crossed all limits of illegal expansionism which had never been accepted by the freedom-loving people of Kashmir. The APHC leader urged the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres to take serious cognizance of the Indian state terrorism and its expansionist designs in the disputed territory.

On the other hand, giving the lie to the Indian media claims, a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, said that Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred 42 Kashmiris including two women and a young boy during past 51 days across IIOJK. Indian media had claimed that only 36 persons were killed in the months of June and July in the occupied territory. The report maintained that the troops martyred 24 youth during 135 cordon and search operations launched in the past 21 days of July, while 16 Kashmiris fell to Indian bullets during 152 similar operations in the last month of June. The report said that over 100 Kashmiri youth were arrested by Indian troops and police personnel during the period.

A researched-based analysis released by Kashmir Media Service stated the revelations that Modi-led Indian government was using Israeli spyware Pegasus to snoop on the phones of the country’s politicians, journalists and activists amply proved that India was fast becoming a spy state. The report citing analysts and experts said that even Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s number was among those targeted by the BJP government.

It pointed out that most of these individuals were targeted in the run-up to the 2019 Indian general elections, which saw Modi return to power with a bigger majority than in 2014. The disclosures also proved the nexus between India and Israel and their evil designs for regional hegemony. The analysts and experts said that the snooping of private phone numbers of its critics proves that the BJP government can go to every extent to achieve its nefarious designs in the region.

Latching on to the Pegasus snooping row, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the Narendra Modi government was trying to convert India into a “surveillance state”. The Editors Guild of India also demanded an urgent and independent inquiry into allegations of widespread surveillance on several Indians. It said that the Pegasus snooping was a brazen and unconstitutional attack on freedom of speech and press. Meanwhile, Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation in Akhnoor area of Jammu. The operation was going on till last reports came in.
