Islamabad, July 03, 2018 (PPI-OT): In an official press release by the federal environmental protection agency is pleased to inform that with personal efforts and supervision of Advocate General Of ICT, Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and According to the rulings of Supreme Court of Pakistan under the 318/1993 provision, two members of the Elite Force have been provided to the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency. The Advocate General held personal meetings with the Commissioner and Inspector General police of Islamabad to provide elite force for Pak-EPA staff security during monitoring of industrial units. In the past, federal Environmental protection agency was faced resistance and many hurdles in non-compliance of environmental laws by industries and implementation of supreme court orders.
For the first time in the history of the Pakistan, Environmental Protection Agency officers will be protected in office and in field operations by elite force so that the orders of the Apex Court could be implemented in true spirit. This step of federal environmental protection agency holds tremendous efforts for the general public and will come up as improvement in air and water quality and overall environmental situation of Islamabad.
