A gang of over 10 armed robbers snatched a tractor trolley and Rs2 lac cash from the driver on Mehran Highway within the precincts of Akri police on Thursday.
According to a report, the robbers intercepted a tractor trolley on the Mehran Highway near Huspani Gate near Naushahro Feroz, where they held driver Ghulam Abbas Shar at gunpoint, tied him up, and looted two Rs2 lac in cash and the vehicle from him.
They decamped to an unknown destination after a swift operation. The driver was returning to his village, Baloch Khan, after supplying sugarcane to the Khairpur Sugar Mills when the incident occurred.
Akri police, led by SHO Noor Muhammad Leghari, have launched an investigation into the robbery and are pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.
