Islamabad Police on Thursday claimed to have apprehended 10 criminals, seizing a substantial quantity of narcotics and firearms in the process.

In a concerted effort to enhance public safety and diminish crime in the federal capital, law enforcement units from Margalla, Shalimar, Noon, Koral, and Bhara Kahu police stations successfully detained seven suspects. The operation led to the recovery of 3,814 grams of heroin, a large stash of methamphetamine, and three pistols complete with ammunition.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against those taken into custody, with investigations currently underway to uncover further details. In a parallel initiative targeting fugitives and declared offenders, three additional culprits were captured.

Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawab Tariq, affirmed the police department”s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the lives and belongings of the city”s inhabitants. He emphasized that maintaining peace and order is paramount, and any attempts to undermine the community”s tranquility will not be tolerated.

The DIG encouraged residents to promptly report any dubious activities to local law enforcement or through the emergency hotline 15. He stressed that cooperation between the police force and citizens is vital in the collective effort to rid Islamabad of crime.
