KARACHI:An anti-terrorism (ATC) court on Wednesday awarded a 32-years jail term to a white Corolla car gang member in robbery, police encounter and attempted murder case.
The ATC announced the verdict against Ali Edan, one of the active members of White-Corolla robbers gang looting passengers coming from Karachi airport. The court also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 against the accused and issued a arrest warrant for fugitive accused Arif.
According to the police, accused Edan, along with his accomplices, used to rob passengers coming from the airport in a white Corolla car. Police had tried to stop accused Edan but he opened fire on the police party and in retaliatory action, he was arrested. The police revealed that the accused used to rob the passengers coming from the airport in police uniforms.
According to records, the accused is a habitual offender and 14 cases have been registered against him while several citizens who were looted by accused on the way back from the airport have testified in court. A case was registered against the accused on January 20, 2018 at Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.
