LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday granted interim bail to the former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan in three cases relating to arson, violence against police, vandalism and Zille Shah murder. Several PTI leaders and workers were booked on the police’s complaint for ‘attacking’ them during a raid at the former prime minister’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore.

The court dismissed a plea made by PTI Chairman Imran Khan requesting for exemption from court appearance. Khan was asked to appear before the court by 11 am. The PTI chief reached court in strict security after being summoned by the duty judge in the cases. The former prime minister appeared before the duty judge in her chamber due to security reasons. The court after their appearance extended the interim bail of Imran Khan in three cases till April

Earlier, at the outset of the hearing, the judge asked where is Imran Khan, he was supposed to appear before the court today. Relief would be given to those in the case who appear before the court, the judge remarked and asked PTI chief’s lawyer will his client appear before the court or not. Imran Khan is not far away from the court, he would appear, the lawyer replied. Later, the court directed Imran Khan to appear before the court in else his bail would be canceled.
