Karachi witnessed a surge in violent incidents on Thursday, including multiple police encounters, robberies, and the tragic death of an eight-year-old boy in a shooting incident.

In Gulshan-e-Maymar, eight-year-old Muhammad Raza was killed in a firing incident allegedly stemming from a personal dispute. The child’s body was shifted to a local hospital, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

In other areas of the city, police clashed with suspected criminals at multiple locations. In Buffer Zone, three suspects were arrested, one of whom was injured, after an exchange of fire. A weapon, ammunition, and a motorcycle were seized. Another encounter in Gulshan-e-Zia resulted in the arrest of one suspect while another escaped. Authorities recovered a weapon, stolen phones, and cash.

A cash van was targeted in the Korangi Industrial Area, leaving two security guards injured and the culprits escaping with an undisclosed amount of money. An exchange of fire between police and robbers occurred during another attempted robbery on Rim Jhim Road, resulting in injuries to one suspect and a passerby.

Adding to the day’s violence, a person was accidentally injured by a security guard’s firing in Korangi. All injured individuals were shifted to hospitals, and investigations into each incident are underway.
