On Wednesday, in a session chaired by Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan presented a budget of PKR 310.20 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26 in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly.
Reviewing the successes of the past two years, Minister Khan emphasized the administration’s accomplishment in securing meaningful financial support and staying within budgetary limits. With a focus on rapid development, the administration has allocated PKR 49 billion for developmental initiatives targeting productive and community-based sectors.
The anticipated revenue for 2025-26 is PKR 261.20 billion, which matches the expected expenditures, including a developmental allocation of PKR 49 billion.
Revenue sources include domestic income (PKR 85 billion), land records and settlement (PKR 180 million), stamps (PKR 500 million), AJK Transport Authority (PKR 70 million), Armed Forces Board (PKR 40 million), and other departments including law and order, police, prisons, communications and roads, education, health, food, agriculture, wildlife/fisheries, livestock and dairy development, forests, electricity, printing press, industries, labor, silk, minerals, tourism, social welfare, religious affairs, miscellaneous, federal variable grants, water usage charges, loans, and advances.
