Bajaur Super League (BSL) cricket tournament, the first ever mega cricket event in the agency concluded with an impressive ceremony at the Bajaur Sports Complex, Bajaur agency, today (Tuesday).
Bajaur Levies Cricket Association won the BSL tournament by defeating Bajaur Green in the final match played at Bajaur sports complex.
Senior official of the local administration, including Additional political Agent Mehmood Ahemd and Assistant political Agent Anwarul Haq were present on the occasion.
Bajaur Agency Additional political Agent Muhammad Ahemd who was the chief guest handed trophies to the winner and runner up teams.
He also distributed trophies and prizes among the best players of the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the additional political agent appreciated the organizers for arranging such a mega cricket event in the agency.
He said that sports activities played a vital role in promotion of peace and prosperity in the agency.
He said that sports activities in the agency are not only imperative for a healthy environment, but also necessary for developing friendly environment in the region.
He said the local administration is committed to provide sports facilities to the youths by constructing new sports ground in the region.
Bajaur Super League chairman Bahdar Khan briefed the participants about the purpose and objectives of the tournament.
He was of the view that the main purpose of the event was to show the soft image of the agency to the world.
He said that such tournament will be held every year in the agency.
