Balochistan CM orders action against wheat hoarders, profiteers

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, while directing Commissioners of the province to expedite operations against hoarders and profiteers of wheat in their respective divisions, has said daily progress report of the operations be furnished to the “Monitoring Cell” set up in Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Quetta with Captain (Retd) Jamil Baloch, Additional Secretary, Chief Minister’s Secretariat as Desk Incharge, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Saturday.

He said that district administration of the bordering district must ensure preventing the smuggling of wheat besides taking indiscriminate action against those involved in hoarding of wheat to create artificial dearth of wheat. In order to monitor the crises of wheat and floor and to monitor the operations against profiteers and hoarders, a “Monitoring Cell” had been set up in Chief Minister’s Secretariat with Captain (Retd) Jamil Baloch, Additional Secretary, Chief Minister’s Secretariat as Desk Incharge with the task of furnishing the reports of actions taken against hoarders and profiteers of wheat to Chief Minister Balochistan. Bezinjo directed Commissioners of the province to expedite operations against hoarders and profiteers of wheat in their respective divisions.

Separately, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Minister for Food called on Chief Minister Balochistan. During the course of discussion, it was decided to immediately procure wheat from PASCO and Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan said that people of the province were confronting hardships owing to non-availability of wheat.
