QUETTA:Balochistan government has directed all administrative departments on Wednesday to consider the adoption of two-year Associate Degree (AD) program equivalent to BA/BSc in all government departments, including development sectors, regarding jobs and employment and further higher studies opportunities.
It is worth mentioning that Academic Council in its 84th meeting held on 25th of February, 2021 granted approval for Under Graduate Education Policy 2020 of Higher Education Commission (HEC), wherein two year Associate Degree (AD) program was approved in the University of Balochistan and in the affiliated colleges on annual system in place of two-year BA/BSc program.
The Academic Council did not agree to discontinue the private BA/MA program for which the university of Balochistan will take up the matter with Higher Education Commission (HEC), therefore, university of Balochistan requested Secretary, Services and General Administration Department and Secretary, Colleges, Higher and Technical Education Department to consider the adoption of two-year Associate Degree (AD) program in parallel to BA/BSc in all government departments in particular and in all other departments in general.
