President Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) on Tuesday said that the provincial government was not sincere to address the problems of journalists as no action has so far been taken against the police and district administration responsible for locking the gates of Quetta Press Club and address other problems being faced by the journalists of the province.

It was stated by him and other speakers while addressing a protest demonstration held under the auspices of BUJ outside Quetta Press Club against the locking of gates of Quetta Press Club. Addressing the protest demonstration, speakers said rather than paying lips service, the provincial government has taken no step either to take action against the police and district administration Quetta responsible for locking the gates of Quetta Press Club or to address other problems of the journalists, adding that protest of journalists would continue until four point demands of BUJ are implemented in true letter and spirit.

The protest demonstration was also addressed by General Secretary, Balochistan Union of Journalists, Abdul Shakoor, President, Quetta Press Club, Abdul Khaliq Rind, ex-President, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, Shahzada Zulfiqar, senior journalists, Raza-ur-Rehman, Irfan Saeed and Ayub Tarin.
