Behl urges India to fulfill promises it made to Kashmiri people

Srinagar, October 05, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum (JKSPF) Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, has said that the Kashmiri people are fighting to secure their right to self-determination promised to them by the Indian leadership before the United Nations and the international community.

 

Devinder Singh Behl along with a delegation visited South Kashmir’s Islamabad district and condoled the demise of Qasim Sajjad, the brother-in-law of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League leader Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh, with the bereaved family.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Behl said that the Kashmiri people demanded of India to fulfill the promises it had made to them at the United Nations. He said that all the people of IIOJK, be they Sikhs, Muslims or Hindus, would continue their struggle till they achieved their inalienable right.

 

The Hurriyat leader urged India and Pakistan to start meaningful dialogue to settle the Kashmir dispute. He said that lasting peace could not be established in South Asia without resolving the lingering dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. He urged the international community to play its role in this regard to save the south Asian region from a nuclear war between Pakistan and India.
