Jammu, October 05, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Jammu-based leading English daily, Early Times, has reported that the just-concluded four-day visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has boosted the morale of Hindu extremists associated with Sangh Parivar to achieve the target, which political analysts believe is conversion of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a Hindu state before 2025.
As the RSS is going to celebrate 100 years of its foundation in 2025, the visit of its chief was aimed at chalking out programmes for the next four years to expand its footprints across occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Although, as per Early Times, RSS has termed the visit as a routine affair to review the functioning of the organization, this tour assumes significance in the sense that for the first time Sangh Parivar’s chief visited IIOJK after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A.
During the indoor meetings, the RSS chief sought feedback from different off-shoots of the Sangh Parivar regarding the impact on Jammu and Kashmir after the post-August 05, 2019 situation. After constitutional changes in IIOJK, RSS is assiduously trying to expand its footprints in all parts of the territory. Already Sangh Parivar has started in activities in Kashmir Valley. In connection with the 100 years celebrations, RSS is going to further expand its work in IIOJK.
As reported in a section of media, renovating and reviving deserted temples in the Kashmir Valley to the expansion of new Shakhas in the higher reaches of the Himalayas, the RSS seems to be on an expansion mode in Jammu and Kashmir. RSS is now trying to revive deserted temples not only in the valley, where Hindu presence is almost nil, but also in Jammu region. On reviving ancient temples in territory, the RSS in its annual report (2019), says: “‘Purmandal’ is a holy place on the banks of Devika river, 40 km away from Jammu. Once a center of Sanskrit learning, over a period of time, this place has been ignored. To revive its (temple) importance a trust has been formed.”
