Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressing the International Conference on ‘Pakistan Fighting War for the World Against Terrorism’, declared Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, emphasizing the nation’s immense sacrifices and demanding global recognition and assistance.

He invoked the legacy of his grandfather, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, stating Pakistan is steering through the tempest of global terrorism with resilience. The Chairman PPP said that in the grim arithmetic of the last two and a half decades, Pakistan has buried 92,000 sons and daughters, soldiers and civilians alike. Our economy has forfeited more than $150 billion in lost growth, shattered infrastructure, and displaced livelihoods. He underscored the borderless nature of terrorism and Pakistan’s leading role in dismantling terrorist networks, including alQaeda, Daesh, and the TTP. He called for global collaboration, asserting that Pakistan’s fight is civilization”s selfdefense.

The PPP leader demanded respect for Pakistan’s sacrifices, urging visa authorities to recognize the value of Pakistani passports and multilateral lenders to factor the nation”s courage into their evaluations. He criticized the Taliban regime in Afghanistan for providing sanctuary to terrorist organizations and called upon them to fulfill their commitments.

Bhutto emphasized the importance of development as a counterterrorism strategy and urged for increased investment in education, infrastructure, and economic opportunities in regions affected by terrorism. He advocated for a Digital Bill of Rights to combat extremist content online and called for greater accountability from tech companies.

Addressing India, Bhutto proposed a joint partnership to combat terrorism, urging India to recognize Pakistan”s commitment to counterterrorism. He called for dialogue and resolution of the Kashmir issue, emphasizing the shared responsibility of both nations in ensuring regional peace. He further extended an invitation to the international community to learn from Pakistan”s counterterrorism experience.

Concluding his address, Bhutto reiterated Pakistan”s resolve to eradicate terrorism and expressed confidence in the nation’s resilience and the strength of its people.
