Breaking News: Three, including a woman, die of coronavirus disease in Karachi

KARACHI:Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho late Monday night confirmed deaths of three more persons, including a woman, due to coronavirus that took the viral disease death toll six in Sindh province so far.

She said that a 63 years old woman patient, a resident of Karachi, had been diagnosed with COVID-19 two days ago. She died today due to coronavirus. The patient had a history of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and had returned from Saudi Arabia 10 days ago, the minister said.

She earlier said a 52 and a 66 years old patients, residents of Karachi, diagnosed with COVID-19 three-days ago, also died today. She explained that 66 years old patient had renal issues and was on dialysis and another 52 – year old patient had a respiratory problem.

Media Coordinator to the Health Minister Meeran Yousuf told PPI that a total 535 Coronavirus patients were detected across the Sindh province so far out of which 265 from Taftan in Sukkur, 249 in Karachi, 12 in Hyderabad, seven from Iran in Larkana, on each in Dadu and Jacobabad.

She further informed that 64 people have been recovered from this viral disease in Sindh province alone while 182 are still under treatment in Karachi. She further informed 205 were locally transmitted out of total 263 Karachi cases. So far 6,328 tests had been performed in Sindh so far out of 535 were tested positive.

In Pakistan a total 1,697 coronavirus cases have been reported throughout the country till date out of them 638 in Punjab, 535 in Sindh, 195 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 144 in Baluchistan 128 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 51 in Islamabad, and six in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

A total 18 deaths due to the coronavirus has also been registered in the country out of which six in Punjab, five in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five in Sindh, one each in Baluchistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, according to government data.

Globally, around 743,206 have been infected from Coronavirus out of them 35,425 died so far. Around 161,823 have been recovered from the disease while 25,225 are in critical condition.
