By dividing Kashmir India violated UN resolutions: AJK PM

Brussels, November 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Raja Farooq Haider Khan, has said that by attempting a demographic change and dividing Jammu and Kashmir into two parts, India has violated United Nation Security Council’s resolutions on Kashmir.

The AJK Prime Minister was addressing a media conference in Brussels in connection with Kashmir EU Week at the European Parliament. During the media conference, Raja Farooq Haider was accompanied by the organizer of the EU Week’s program Chairman Kashmir Council Europe Ali Raza Syed and host of this event European Parliament Member Shaffaq Mohammed.

The AJK Prime Minister said, India’s act is particularly a violation of resolution number 122 of 1957 which emphasizes India not to change territorial geographical status of the disputed territory till final decision of its fate according to wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, it is three month now occupied Kashmir has been cut from the rest of world.

During the press conference, member European Parliament from UK Shaffaq Mohammed said, I hope that Europe would not tolerate the complete blackout in occupied Kashmir. He added, it is almost hundred days now that 8 million people are under curfew in the occupied territory.

Speaking at the press conference, the KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, said that the annual event of Kashmir EU-Week is being arranged by the Kashmir Council Europe for last 11 years.

Later a seminar was also held at the EU Parliament during which the participants discussed the latest situation in occupied Kashmir. The seminar was chaired by MEP Shaffaq Mohammed and addressed by AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Vice President of the European Parliament Livia Jaroka, MEPs Phil Bennion, Theresa Griffin, Baroness Nosheena Mobarik and Richard Corbett, Former MEP Dr Sajjad Karim, KCEU Chairman Ali Raza Syed, Academic person Sadia Mir, Political activist of Kashmiri origin Zeinab Drabu, Member of the Kashmir Global Council Suraiya Siddiqi, Historian and Editor of De Kanttekening magazine Ewout Klei and Co-founder of the Student International League of Kashmir Khaoula Siddiqi.
