Call for lawyers strike on 11th April, 2019

Islamabad, April 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): Since the demands and proposals of the Bar in respect of Sections 22A and 22B of the Criminal Procedure Code regarding entertainment of applications for registration of FIR and establishment of Model Courts, discussed with and placed before His Lordship the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan / Chairman, National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC) by the delegation of representatives of the Bar Councils and Bar Associations, headed by Syed Amjad Shah, Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, on 28-03-2019 at Islamabad, neither have been considered by the NJPMC nor accepted as yet, despite the lapse of about two weeks, the members of the Bar throughout the Country are continuously expressing their resentment.

Syed Amjad Shah, Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, therefore, pursuant to decision taken in the “All Pakistan Lawyers Representatives Convention” held on 26-03-2019 at Lahore, under auspices of the Punjab Bar Council and Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore, has requested the Lawyers to observe FULL DAY STRIKE throughout Pakistan on Thursday, the 11th April, 2019, against decision of the NJPMC in respect of Sections 22A and 22B of Cr.P.C. and establishment of Model Courts, when they will hold protest meetings in their Bar Rooms.
