QUETTA: Dr Altaf Baloch, President, Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association, has called on the authorities not to post a retired officer against the position of Director General, Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Balochistan, besides addressing other demands of PVMA.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Saturday, he said that extension in the service of a retired officer / official, re-appointment and granting contract to a retired officer was sheer violation of the verdicts passed by the honourable courts.

Demanding the authorities to adjust officers against the vacant positions of Deputy Directors in district Loralai and district Mastung of Balochistan province, he said that the mentioned posts had been vacant for the last many months due to unknown reasons, creating thereby problems to dispose off official business in Loralai and Mastung districts.

He said that promotion cases of the employees of Livestock and Dairy Development Department were not being processed due to which officers and officials of the department remained deprived of their promotion. He called on the authorities to submit the promotion cases of all eligible officers of Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Balochistan before the competent forum for consideration. Baloch demanded for creation of at least 300 vacancies of Veterinary Doctors in all wings of Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Balochistan, so that unemployed veterinary graduates could be posted against the newly created posts.

On the occasion, Dr. Abdullah, Dr. Ali Ghulam, Dr. Najeebullah, Dr. Ashraf, Dr. Rasheed and others were also present.
