QUETTA: Fida Hussain Dashti, President, Aiwan-e-Sanat-o-Tijarat, Balochistan, has said it was the need of time to modernize mining sector of Balochistan province.
These views were expressed by him while talking to a delegation comprising office bearers and workers of Mines and Minerals Association who called on him here on Wednesday.
“Neither mining sector is granted the status of industry nor are the persons affiliated with mining sector considered as labourers”, he regretted, adding that in the era of science and technology, mining sector of the province was in a dilapidated condition. Dashti said, “Government ought to adopt measures for uplifting mining sector of the province so that more job opportunities can be provided to the people of the province”. He called on authorities to ensure providing security to the people associated with mining sector. On the occasion, Amjad Ali Siddique, Vice President, Aiwan-e-Sanat-o-Tijarat, Balochistan was also present.
