KARACHI:A general body meeting of Marta Women Football Club was held at the club secretariat with their founder and president Rais Khan in the chair.

The meeting unanimously decided to appoint Pakistan Football Federation president Eng Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah as chairman and noted social personality Tahir Malik as the chief patron of their club. On the occasion, Ashfaq Hussain Shah and Tahir Malik thanked the general body for reposing confidence in them.

They pledged to use their full potential to further promote women football in Pakistan. They said many talented women footballers in Pakistan would be given more training through qualified coaches to hone up their skills.

Rais welcomed Eng Ashfaq Khan and Tahir Malik and said with participation of committed friends, football would be further promoted in Pakistan. He said there is shortage of football grounds for women footballers. He appealed to the federal and provincial governments to develop more grounds for women footballers for ensuring practice facilities to them. He demanded to hold a series of tournaments to promote football in Pakistan.
