Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project site along with Member Engineering and other relevant officials on Monday.
In line with the directives of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, construction activities on the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass are being expedited to ensure completion within the current month.
The Chairman CDA directed that the project must be completed within the stipulated time while maintaining the highest standards of construction quality. Contractors and consultants, along with relevant officers, briefed the Chairman on the ongoing progress of the construction work.
According to the briefing, the slip roads of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass are in the final stages of completion, while 75% of the overall project work has already been accomplished.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa instructed to ensure round-the-clock (24/7) construction activities to achieve the project’s set targets. He emphasized simultaneous progress on all sections of the project to further accelerate the pace of work.
The Chairman made it clear that no compromise on the quality and standards of construction will be tolerated. He directed the consultants, resident engineers, and project director to ensure timely completion and maintain the highest standards of work at the site.
Once completed, the underpass will save commuters both time and fuel, added Muhammad Ali Randhawa. He noted that travelers from New Islamabad International Airport to Murree and Kashmir will benefit from a signal-free travel experience. With this project’s completion, CDA is set to achieve a significant milestone in Islamabad’s road infrastructure development.
The Chairman concluded that the completion of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass will bring marked improvements to the city’s overall infrastructure.
