A high-level meeting was held here at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Monday under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The meeting was attended by members of the CDA Board, Director General (DG) Building Control Authority, DG Works, DG Resource, DG Urban Planning, DG E and M, DG Services, Chief Officer ICT, Director DMA, and other senior officials.
During the session, the overall performance of CDA was reviewed. Officials were briefed on new projects, including the upgradation of Melody Food Street.
The chairman directed to improve food quality standards and enhance coordination between the relevant department of CDA, the Food Authority, and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
Instructions were issued to allocate a larger area for parking at Melody and install aesthetically pleasing lights. The meeting also approved the establishment of a Food Street in Blue Area, along with top-tier landscaping, decorative lighting, and designated parking spaces.
Authorities were directed to make the Blue Area Food Street operational as soon as possible. Additionally, a comprehensive traffic management plan was ordered for all major commercial centers of the city, with strict implementation guidelines.
The selection of appropriate locations for vehicle markets and timely resolution of traffic and parking issues were also discussed. Briefing was given on the upgradation of Gandhara Heritage Club, and directives were issued to complete the remaining work within the stipulated timeframe.
The meeting directed the replacement of all malfunctioning lights in the city parks, Margalla Road, and other key roads with new lighting systems.
