The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially abolished the posts of Deputy Director General Land and Director Land, placing the entire Land and Rehabilitation
Directorate under the administrative control of the CDA Deputy Commissioner Revenue (DCR).
This significant restructuring comes as per a notification issued on May 30, 2025. Under the new framework, all responsibilities related to land acquisition, compensation payments, and rehabilitation of affected persons will now be overseen by the Deputy Commissioner of CDA.
The notification clearly states that the final authority to approve any compensation-whether in cash or in the form of rehabilitation-will rest solely with the Deputy Commissioner.
Furthermore, verification from a third party (ICT Administration) will be mandatory before the issuance of any award or order. Provisions 36 and 36-A of the CDA Ordinance 1960 will also be applicable to this new framework.
All offices of the former Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Directorate will now function under the administrative control of the Deputy Commissioner. Additionally, two Deputy Directors and one Additional Director will report directly to the Deputy Commissioner.
