Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defence, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Friday paid a surprise visit to the Emergency and Disaster Management Headquarters (HQ) to review the preparedness for emergency and disaster situations.

Member Administration CDA, Talat Mehmood, also accompanied the Chairman during the visit. Upon arrival at the headquarters, the delegation observed a comprehensive fire and rescue drill, witnessed demonstrations of emergency fire protection equipment for public safety, and evaluated the performance of firefighters.

The Chairman CDA praised the bravery of firefighters, stating that they are prepared to risk their lives to save others and protect public and private property in hazardous situations.

He appreciated the dedication, training, and firefighting capabilities of the CDA Firefighters, acknowledging their selfless efforts in saving lives and assets under challenging circumstances.

The Chairman CDA further stated that the preparedness and capabilities of the Emergency and Disaster Management setup are in line with international standards.

He emphasized that CDA has established a world-class firefighting force to ensure the protection of the public during emergencies. The Chairman also stressed the importance of public awareness in managing emergencies effectively.

He assured that the Emergency and Disaster Management Fire Division would be provided with all necessary resources and training to remain fully prepared for any emergency or disaster.

In conclusion, the Chairman lauded the critical role of firefighters in safeguarding lives and property, reaffirming CDA’s commitment to enhancing emergency response infrastructure.
