Chief Minister Holds a Meeting to Review the Performance of Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture

Lahore, November 04, 2022 (PPI-OT): A meeting was held in the Chief Minister’s Office under the chair of Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, in which the performance of the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PLAC) was reviewed. The Chief Minister directed PLAC to prepare a comprehensive plan for the promotion of Punjab’s culture and said that the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture will be reorganized.

 

While approving the organization of the Alam Lohar folk Mela in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that eminent Punjabi singers, artists and poets will be invited to the festival. He directed to build a cafe on the pattern of Pak Tea House and said that tea, coffee and other eatables will be provided to the poets and writers in the Punjab cafe.

 

He said that the FM radio studio will be equipped with modern technology and an increase in salaries and allowances of the employees of the institution will be reviewed. The Chief Minister directed that the related matters to start the satellite TV channel should be decided soon.

 

Chief Minister Parvez Elahi said that he established this institution for the promotion of the culture of Punjab in his previous period but the Muslim League (N) government ignored this institution like his other projects. This institution reached the brink of destruction during PML-N tenure and the Punjab culture will be revived by reviving this institution.

 

The Chief Minister instructed to relocate the PILAC Multan office to the Multan Arts Council building and said that special programs should be organized in southern Punjab for the promotion of the culture of Punjab, especially the Saraiki language. The goal of promotion of the mother tongue will now be achieved from where it was stopped, he concluded. DG PILAC Dr Sughra Sadaf gave a briefing about the performance of the institution, FM Punjab Rung Radio and other issues.

 

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Secretary Information, Secretary Implementation Chief Minister’s Office, Additional Secretary Culture, DGPR, Director PILAC, Producer FM Punjab Rung Radio and related officials attended the meeting.
