Chief Secretary calls reports on pension cases, recruitment on deceased / minorities’ quota

Karachi, July 30, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Maj. Retd Azam Suleman Khan has called reports from all provincial secretaries regarding various special quotas viz: deceased quota, minorities quota, disabled quota and women quota, within a week. He also directed the monthly reports on pensions, enquiries and compensation cases from the secretaries for prompt action to facilitate the deserving people.

He was presiding the meeting of the Secretaries Committee, in Sindh Secretariat on Monday, which was attended by the Chairman P and D Muhammad Waseem, SMBR (Senior Member Board of Revenue) Add. Chief Secretary Forest and Wildlife Suhail Akbar Shah and other Secretaries. Divisional Commissioners and Heads of SSWMB (Sindh Solid Waste Management Board), KMC, KW and SB also attended.

The meeting reviewed various issues – including cleanliness and sanitation, Thar Coal Authority’s function, KFHA (Karachi Fish Harbour Authority), KW and SB, SSWMB, Unauthorized use of Luxury Vehicles, Dual nationality, Salary packages of the companies employees, Development Schemes, Zulfiqarabad Oil Terminal, etc. The progress regarding Court cases was also reviewed.

The Chief Secretary maintained that the issue of deterioration of the Government Offices buildings including hospitals and educational institutions must be controlled, the M and R (maintenance and repair) work should be carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations. He said that Works and Services Department should play its vital role in this connection.

Maj. Retd. Azam Suleman Khan also stressed the need to strengthen the biometric system like the Divisional and District level with a view to increase the human resources. He noted that the Government Building’s vigilance must be made more effectively in order to eradicate the theft of building accessories like electric fans etc. He also directed the SGA and CD to do the needful for beautification and renovation of Balochistan House, Karachi and ensure line of action for auction of the old vehicles. He also advised to arrange a video on Thar Coal Projects to show on next hearing in Court.

The Chief Secretary expressed thanks to all Departments, Divisional and District Administration and all concerned for their services in election task. Chairman P and D, Muhammad Waseem, Coordinator Water Commission Syed Asif Hyder Shah and others also addressed on the occasion. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary asked the Administrator KMC to ensure the rapid cleanliness of the storm water drains and sewerage nallas, of Karachi, including disposal of debris thereof.
