Karachi, October 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has advised the SMBR Muhammad Hussain Syed to ensure a plan for provision multi foods items to the needy people of Thar viz wheat, pulses, cooking oils, sugar, mild and other cooking items on monthly basis. He asked the Secretary Food to coordinate with SMBR for furnishing the food-stuff to the Tharies.
Syed Mutaz Shah issued these instructions while presiding a high level meeting to revived the Thar Relief Program on Wednesday in Sindh Secretariat. The meeting reviewed mother-child causalities food and nutrition program water and fodder (for live stock) and health facilities for Thar people.
The Chief Secretary ordered Sindh Health and Population Welfare Departments to initiate free ambulance services for deserving people of Thar, immediately. He also asked Secretary Health to strengthen the Hospitals, Dispensaries, Rural health Centers and Basic Health Units, by posting sufficient staff, providing medicines and other facilities. The Chief Secretary also required suggestions and problems of various Departments working for the Thar Development Program. Secretary Live Stock and Forest Suhail Akbar Shah, SMBR Muhammad Hussain Syed and Secretaries of Health, Food, Energy, Irrigation, PHED and Planning and Development Department.
