In a decisive move to enforce discipline, Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah today conducted an unannounced inspection of various offices within the Sindh Secretariat on Thursday.

During his visit, he expressed strong displeasure over the absence of several key officials during working hours, leading to immediate administrative actions. The Chief Secretary took corrective measures by issuing showcause notices to Director General Colleges Naveed Rab Siddiqui, Regional Director Colleges Karachi Faqir Muhammad Lakho, and Director Private Colleges Karachi Syed Abdul Qadir Shah. Additionally, Nazir Ahmed Khaskheli, the Incharge of the Human Rights Commission, faced suspension, while Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso received an explanation notice.

To underline the seriousness of the issue, Shah personally signed the attendance registers in the offices of the absent officers. He emphasized the critical importance of punctuality, admonishing officials for their absence as late as 9:30 AM, a situation he described as intolerable. The Chief Secretary”s actions underscore a renewed focus on accountability and adherence to office hours in the Sindh Secretariat.
