Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss bilateral relations with particular reference to regional developments particularly addressing the heightened tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam incident.
President Zardari voiced his concerns over the recent rhetoric from the Indian Government, which he believes poses a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He underscored the need for responsible dialogue to prevent further escalation.
In response, Ambassador Jiang highlighted the steadfast nature of the China-Pakistan relationship, describing it as a bond of “ironclad brothers” that has consistently provided mutual support during challenging periods. He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s perspective and reiterated China’s unwavering commitment to supporting Pakistan in its quest for peace and stability in South Asia.
President Zardari expressed his deep appreciation for China’s unwavering support, acknowledging the critical role the Chinese Government has played in standing by Pakistan through difficult times.
