Chinese government has announced the renaming of places in Zangnan, known as Arunachal Pradesh in India, as a sovereign decision.

This declaration by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Zangnan is historically, geographically, and administratively a part of China. The ministry described the act of assigning Chinese names to these locations as an internal matter.

The announcement further intensifies the longstanding territorial dispute between China and India. While India maintains that Zangnan is an integral part of its territory, China asserts it is part of southern Tibet. This latest move is viewed by defense experts as a significant blow to the Indian government, especially following Pakistan’s strong response to Indian aggression.
