Islamabad, At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Mr. Liu Jianchao, a high-ranking official from the Communist Party of China, will visit Islamabad from June 20 to June 22, 2024. Mr. Liu will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-China Joint Consultative Mechanism on CPEC and meet with top civil and military leaders.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, will participate in a series of strategic discussions aimed at enhancing the scope and impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The meeting will focus on the progress of ongoing projects, their contribution to Pakistan’s socio-economic advancement, and potential expansions to boost regional connectivity.

Established in 2019, the Joint Consultative Mechanism serves as a platform for regular dialogue between the Communist Party of China and Pakistani political parties, underlining the commitment of both nations to strengthen their ‘All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.’ This visit underscores the ongoing high-level exchanges aimed at fostering mutual support on core national interests, promoting high-quality development of CPEC, and discussing significant regional and global issues.
