KARACHI:Pakistan Railways has achieved the third milestone in the revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) by completely clearing the track between Shah Abdul Latif and SITE area stations, credible sources told PPI on Saturday.

The previous two milestones comprised clearance of track from Karachi City to Baldia, and Baldia to Shah Abdul Latif stations respectively. Consequent upon the directives of the apex court regarding the restoration of historic KCR Project, the Pakistan Railways intends its revival in two phases. The first phase of KCR revival entails clearance of track from City to Orangi that is undergoing active progress.

KCR Project Director Ameer Mohammad Daudpota said that track required in phase one operation in KCR had been witnessing significant progress and work activities. “The progress in the revival dimension depicts the restoration of project in the stipulated time,” commented the PD.
