(City): PTA elections on 11th October

Larkana:Out of 176 units as many as 76 office-bearers of Primary Teachers Association (PTA) came out directly without being contested and elections on the remaining 70 units will be held on Sunday, 11th October. This was disclosed by Abdul Khaliq Bhangwar, Chairman, Central Election Committee, All Sindh Primary Teachers Association and other members here on Monday.

He said out of these 76 units, 11 are in Karachi division, 25 in Hyderabad division, 16 in Mirpurkhas division, 10 in Sukkur Division, eight in Larkana division and six units in Nawabshah division. He said they are trying hard to make the elections free, fair and transparent because long unrest was felt among the teachers community since the last six years, he added.

On the other hand PTA’s central president Shafi Muhammad Sathyo claimed that five districts have been won by them uncontested which include Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Tharparkar and Sanghar. He further claimed they have also been able to be successful in Sujawal, Jamshoro and other districts adding in this way they have secured 90 votes and their opponents have so far obtained 47 votes.

It must be mentioned here that every primary teacher has been given the right to vote for the first time in Sindh’s history, he further added. He said their opponents are raising unnecessary objections.
