Larkana:District administration and the authorities of Larkana Municipal Corporation (LMC) have miserably failed to drain out stagnant rainwater from several thickly populated areas despite direction by the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The residents continue to face serious hardships.

 

These areas include Murad Wahan, Bhains Colony, Old Bus Stand, Fish Market, Munwar Abad, Nazar Muhalla, Rahmatpur, Baitul Mal Colony, Police Headquarters, Shah Baharo Colony and other localities. Sewerage drains overflowed and made the rainwater highly contaminated which has put the lives of citizens at risk.

 

Azadars of Jafferia Imam Bargah also held a large protest demonstration here on Saturday against LMC’s total failure to drain outstanding rainwater from various localities which will create a lot of problems for the processions which are to be taken out on 10th Muharram Ul Haram.

 

They said elected representatives are also misleading and misinforming PPP Chairman that stagnant rainwater has been drained out of several areas whereas ground really is that the situation has been complicated and residents have been forced to live under the same most unhygienic conditions.

 

Residents of various localities Yasir Magsi, Nadim Lashari, Rafique Kalhoro, Saeed Pirzado, Ali Mughal, Jinsar Chandio, Niaz Baloch and others also protested and demanded of the provincial government and relevant authorities to order thorough probe into the funds allocated to the local government departments across Sindh to find out the truth where taxpayer’s money was utilized during their tenure as no development works were carried out in their expiring term.
