Civilian succumbs to bullet injury in IOK

Srinagar, January 16, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a civilian who was injured in the firing of Indian troops succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Srinagar, today. The victim identified as Muhammad Ayoub Mir was hit by a bullet in his abdomen when the troops opened fire on protesters during a cordon and search operation at Batmurran-Wanpora in Shopian on December 19, 2017. He succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Srinagar, today, after battling for life for the last almost a month.

Delegations of different pro-freedom organisations including Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement participated in funeral prayers of the martyred. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir People’s League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, addressing party workers in Islamabad town paid rich tributes to Muhammad Ayub. He said that India had created a war-like situation in occupied Kashmir and on the Line of Control to distract the attention of international community from its state terrorism in the occupied territory.

Hurriyat leaders, Zafar Akbar Butt and Javaid Ahmed Mir during their mass contact programmes in Srinagar areas urged people to remain in close contact with resistance leadership to carry forward the ongoing freedom movement. Zafar Butt also paid glowing tributes to martyred Muhammad Ayoub.
