Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (R) Hafeez ur Rehman, has expressed regret over an incident during the ‘Senate Functional Committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas’ meeting, clarifying there was no intention to be disrespectful or use unparliamentary language.

Rehman explained that a lighthearted remark was exchanged with Honourable Senator Aimal Wali Khan upon the Senator’s return to the room. He acknowledged that if any unintended offence occurred, he had already issued an unconditional apology to the Honourable Committee.

Rehman emphasized his high regard for Senator Aimal Wali Khan and his family, and reiterated his respect for all Senate members. He reaffirmed his commitment to uphold parliamentary decorum and serve the nation within legal and official protocols.

Additionally, he pointed out that his record shows institutional performance and reform, attributing the campaign against him on social and political platforms to a misunderstanding. Rehman believes in the necessity for forbearance and a forwardlooking approach for the national interest.
