The winners of the “Climate in my Community” competition were invited to the Prime Minister’s Office by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

This event marked a significant moment to celebrate the participants’ creativity and dedication to raising climate change awareness. Earlier, on 6th March, the winners were honored during a special Iftar celebration hosted by the British High Commission in Islamabad to mark Commonwealth Day. This event was organized in collaboration with the British Council and Aawaz II.

The competition, which attracted over 550 entries from across Pakistan, encouraged young people to submit art reflecting their views on climate change. Six winners were chosen for their outstanding contributions. During the Iftar celebration, the winners showcased their work, earning praise from dignitaries, including Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan.

Impressed by their dedication, Rana Mashhood invited the winners to the Prime Minister’s Office on 7th March. There, he expressed admiration for their talent and commitment to addressing climate change through creative expression. He underscored the importance of youth involvement in environmental advocacy and empowering young people for sustainable development.

In recognition of their efforts, Rana Mashhood announced the nomination of the six climate change champions as Green Youth Movement (GYM) Ambassadors. He emphasized that this appointment would provide them a platform to amplify their voices and engage more young people in meaningful climate action across Pakistan. He expressed hope that their leadership would inspire others to participate actively in building a sustainable future.

The newly appointed GYM Ambassadors expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for their new roles, pledging to continue their efforts and inspire their peers towards a greener future. The ambassadors include Rahma Mudassar, Khadija Chaudhary, Gulshan Fatima, and Roha Arshad. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme anticipates ongoing collaboration with these young individuals and is committed to supporting their work.
