CM Kamal orders formation of committee to probe Mach killings

Quetta:Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan issued directives for constituting a “Joint Investigation Committee” to probe the Mach incident.

“Investigation be conducted against all departments accused of demonstrating negligence in the tragedy of Mach.” Directives to this effect were issued by Jan Kamal Khan while presiding over a high level meeting held here on Thursday.

Threadbare briefing with regard to sit-in being observed by Hazara community on western bypass area was given to Chief Minister. It was informed that the Government of Afghanistan had approached Government of Pakistan for handing over bodies of three victims out of seven bodies of Afghan citizens.

Khan expressed displeasure over not compiling data of labourers working in coal field and directed authorities of Mines and Minerals Development Department to do the needful forthwith.

The meeting was attended, inter alia, by Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Advisor to Chief Minister for Labour and Manpower, Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri, Advisor to Chief Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Bushra Rind, Chief Secretary, Balochistan, Captain (Retd) Fazeel Asghar, Spokesperson for provincial government, Liaquat Shahwani and Commissioner Quetta Division, Asfand Yar Khan.
