CM Khan asks people to plant more trees

QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal has said that incumbent government was earnestly striving to cope up with the issue of climate change. In his message issued on Saturday on the eve of “World Environment Day”, he said that global warming was a serious and common problem of the world. Khan said trees were being planted across the province under “Ten Billion Trees Tsunami Programme”. He added that brick kilns industry was being converted to Zig Zag Technology to minimise pollution, adding that approval had been accorded for setting up state of the art Environmental Assessment and Testing Laboratory in Hub city.

He said that for restoration of ecosystem, draft of Balochistan Environmental CSR Policy, 2021 had been framed. He said that Bolochistan Environmental Protection Act was being reviewed, adding that more than 18 rules and regulations pertaining to environment sector were being framed. Khan said that “Solid Waste Management” project was being launched in four districts of the province. He said, “It is pleasing that this year Pakistan is hosting World Environment Day. We all will have to play our due role to cope up with global warming.” Khan appealed to the people to plant more trees
