CM Naqvi gives approval for new recruitments into PKLI

LAHORE:Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Monday gave in-principle approval for new recruitments into Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI). During a visit to the PKLI, the chief minister held a meeting with PKLI Board of Governors Chairperson Prof Dr Saeed Akhtar and other doctors. An endowment fund was established in the PKLI with Rs5 billion, and the chief minister announced providing more funds for the endowment fund.

He also directed to immediately restore Filter Clinics for research and development in the PKLI. “A state-of-the-art control and command center will be established in the PKLI. Patients will be able to get the opinion of specialist doctors through video link,” he stated. Dr Saeed Akhtar gave a briefing on the performance of the PKLI and other issues. Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the facilities provided for treatment in the institute.

Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram was present. The Punjab chief secretary, provincial health secretary and other officials were also present on the occasion. “The problems of the institution will be solved on a priority basis. The medical education and research will be promoted through the PKLI,” the chief minister said. “Legal proceedings should be completed on a priority basis for recruitment against the vacant posts,” he directed.
