CM vows to break status quo

Lahore, December 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced breaking the 30-year of status quo and making record legislation. In his informal interaction with beat reports at the CM office, he said he belongs to an underdeveloped area and he has got the responsibility of the CM office only due to the grace of Allah Almighty. There are many challenges in the province but his resolve is stronger. I want to serve the people of my province. He said we will present our 100 days performance to the people and will tell them that we have decided our priorities and way forward for the next five years. We will also tell the public about our five year plan.

Our way is clear and straight, and our resolve is concrete; therefore, support of Allah Almighty will be with us. He said he announced a package of billions of rupees for Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa and Barthi which are deprived of basic facilities, while South Punjab secretariat will start working from the next year. The development of Lahore was confined to one area only, and we will also bring a mega project for Lahore. The issue of clean drinking water will also be resolved and the people will see change soon. He said he meets with people without protocol.

If the people come to me by midnight, I talk to them even then and resolve their issues. First time in the history departments have done savings. He said genuine problems of journalists will be resolved. Record legislation will be done in Punjab. He said he will personally sit in the Punjab Assembly. First time in the history record legislation is being done for the welfare and development of the people. He said he works within legal limits. He said we will break the status quo of the 30 years at any cost. This is not a simple task but we have started efforts to break the status quo. Now things are improving.

He said land worth billions of rupees have been retrieved during the operation against encroachments. Such astonishing revelations have been made that you will be left spell bound. I will present the 100 day performance before the people. He said this is his responsibility to give protection to farmers of sugarcane. The crushing season has been delayed but the Punjab government has itself taken measures in this regard.

The work regarding the wheat crop has started. The agriculture policy will be announced soon and farmers will be provided relief. The chit system has ended, I will take action wherever I found violation. He said the administration has been issued directions to control price hike and a warning has been issued to the administration regarding the control of prices. We will take action on complaints. He said he has personally directed the administration to take active action in this regard.

Development will not remain confined to one area. We made a policy of balanced progress. The performance of ministers is being monitored. He said a commission has been made for police reforms and this commission still exists. He said Nasir Durrani has resigned due to health problems, but we are bringing new people to the commission.

He said Forests Department has achieved goals regarding the clean and green Punjab campaign. We are establishing the land bank of the retrieved land during the operation against encroachments. He will use the retrieved land in the best possible manner. He said he personally monitors progress on the operation against encroachments. I have no hindrance in the discharge of my duty. My object is the progress and welfare of the people of Punjab. The chief minister also answered the questions of journalists. Spokesman of CM Shehbaz Gill and the DGPR were also present in the meeting.
