Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Shah today underscored the importance of implementing initiatives in the poultry, fisheries, and livestock sectors to fortify the economy and enhance prosperity for related businesses.
During a meeting with Provincial Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Muhammad Ali Malkani at the CM House, Shah highlighted the need for modernizing these sectors with advanced technology. He instructed the minister to provide essential guidance to stakeholders and stressed the adoption of modern fish farming practices, particularly in coastal areas, to boost exports.
The Chief Minister called for the upgrade of fishing harbors with modern amenities and the promotion of environmentally sustainable fishing to safeguard marine ecosystems. Additionally, he emphasized improvements in veterinary healthcare, animal breeding, and vaccination systems to prevent diseases and enhance livestock farm monitoring.
Shah advocated for the use of advanced technology to increase the production of milk, eggs, and meat, recognizing the Livestock Department’s role in ensuring food security. He concluded by urging practical measures to improve the department’s overall performance.
