Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of Pakistan on Monday, though scattered rain and thunderstorms with snowfall over hilly areas are forecast in northeastern Balochistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Light rain is likely in southern Punjab, while patches of shallow fog are expected in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during nighttime, according to a PMD report issued today morning.
On Tuesday, similar cold and dry conditions will continue, with rain and snowfall anticipated in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Shallow fog is expected in parts of Punjab and upper Sindh during the early morning and late evening hours.
In the past 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms struck isolated areas in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and upper Sindh. Snowfall was recorded in Kalam. Rainfall measurements included Kalam (11 mm), Drosh (7 mm), Khuzdar (8 mm), and Jacobabad (1 mm). Snowfall in Kalam reached 2.5 inches.
The lowest temperatures recorded on Sunday night were -8°C in Leh, -3°C in Skardu, Gopis, and Hunza, and -1°C in Kalam.
