LARKANA: Commissioner, Larkana Division, Ghanwar Ali Leghari, has convened a meeting of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Larkana, administration on 9th June at CMCH office to discuss issues faced by the largest tertiary care hospital of rural Sindh and review performance of this Bhutto’s hometown hospital.
In a letter sent to the CMCH Medical Superintendent (MS), commissioner said that he will at the very outset visit various sections/units of the Hospital and hold a meeting to review performance of these units. MS and other doctors including Registrar of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Principal, Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC), Paeds Department additional medical superintendent and others will brief him
It must be mentioned here that being the largest teaching hospital of downtrodden Sindh, CMCH is facing multifarious core issues including outdated machinery, equipment, instruments, poor patient care, unavailability of drugs and medicines despise huge annual budget, maladministration and mismanagement, dysfunctional diesel generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply in this sizzling hot weather to the indoor and outdoor patients including post and pre-operative who arrive from far flung remote areas of several nearby districts apart from Balochistan to get specialized medical treatment for their various ailments including surgeries.
The provincial Sindh Health Department has so far completely failed to improve working of the hospital and provide all required latest diagnostic machinery despite repeated tall claims to make it state of the art causing tremendous hardships for the poor patients and the doctors resulting rush of the poverty-stricken indisposed people at private medical centers costing them extra in this unprecedented inflation era.
