Concern shown over Naseerabad water scarcity

QUETTA: Minister for Revenue Balochistan Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa said on Saturday that more than 6,000 cusecs water was available in Patfeeder canal, but it was not known as to why water was not being provided to the agrarian lands of Naseer Shakh and Jhud Shakh areas of Naseerabad Division.

Talking to media, he said that the Executive Engineer, Irrigation, Naseerabad had failed to perform his official duty, adding that the growers and agriculturists of Naseer Shakh and Jhud Shakh were protesting against scarcity of water.

Khosa said that owing to the acute dearth of agricultural water, agrarian lands were becoming dried and peasants of the area were compelled to migrate.
